18 weeks

How far along? 18 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I haven't weighed myself recently.
Maternity clothes? Starting to wear more maternity clothes, noticing all my stuff is getting too small. Jacob took me shopping and bought me some more maternity outfits that are so comfy! He's the best!
Stretch Marks? I noticed a few small ones, bought  the Palmer's stuff last week and have been using that. - they are starting to go away!
Sleep: This week has been the worst so far. Jacob was out of town so I didn't sleep good because of that, but I really just cannot get comfortable. It is either my back, hip, knee. Something hurts in every position. :/
Best moment this week: Finally seeing a little belly and feeling LOTS of movement.
Miss anything? Still missing turkey sandwiches.
Movement: YES! he feels like he is rolling around in there. Have only felt a few small kicks. Jacob really wishes he could feel him move but it's mostly internal for now.
Food Cravings: This week so far I am craving: Spiced Apple - chicken salad melt sandwich, ruffles and extra pickles. Mmmmm I could eat that every day!
Anything making you queasy or sick? pizza.
Have you started to show yet? A little. Some people still say I don't look pregnant but some people are starting to really notice. I notice! ha!
Gender Prediction: It's a boy!
Labor signs? No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: A little of both, mostly happy lately. :)
Looking forward to: Feeling more and more movement and seeing our little guy again next week!

17 weeks

How far along? 17 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I haven't weighed myself recently.
Maternity clothes? I wear a couple of maternity jeans/pants for comfort but they are still way too big! Still rubberbanding my jeans and wearing leggings.
Stretch Marks? i noticed a few small ones, bought  the Palmer's stuff last week and have been using that.
Sleep: I'm still sleeping pretty good, still waking up many times in the night to pee. I have a hard time getting comfortable during the night here lately so I am not sleeping as well as I have been. I have been putting a pillow in between my legs laying on my side and it has helped a little. I have been getting little bursts of energy which is nice, hoping to get more of those.
Best moment this week: Finally seeing a little belly and feeling some movement!
Miss anything? Still missing turkey sandwiches.
Movement: Still feeling flutters and I swear I felt a small, quick kick this week. It was awesome but too fast.
Food Cravings: This week so far I am craving: Pickles! and vanilla ice cream sandwiches.
Anything making you queasy or sick? pizza.
Have you started to show yet? A little. Some people still say I don't look pregnant but some people are starting to really notice.
Gender Prediction: It's a boy!

Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: A little of both, mostly happy lately. :)

Nursery Inspiration

We want to do his nursery with inspiration from "Where The Wild Things Are" which is Jacob's favorite childhood book.

I don't want to overdo it. I like simple wall colors and simple bedding with small details from the book incorporated in the room. Examples: the adorable crown light fixture, mobile, pillow, artwork and peg dolls. I love the pops of green. I love this rug from anthro too. As soon as I saw it I thought of baby's room.

These are just a few of my inspirations. I can't wait to start on his room. :)

It's A BOY!

Well, Momma was wrong. We are having a BOY! I could have sworn it was a girl but I am thrilled to be having a boy. Jacob is really excited as well.

We found out last Thursday. We were nervous that we weren't going to be able to keep our original appointment because it had snowed so bad the day before but luckily the roads were pretty clear when it was time to go to the appointment.

As soon as the ultrasound tech rubbed over my belly, I saw it...his little weenie! I told her, "I think I see something", she said "I think I do too, but let's look to make sure." She said there was no denying that he was a boy. At that moment so many emotions were running through me. I turned to look at Jacob and he had the biggest smile on his face. He looked at me and said, "I knew it, I told you." It was so awesome seeing him like that, with so much joy. I was feeling it too. We were having a little boy. It all became so real at that moment.

She then did the 3D ultrasound and we got to see his little face, so amazing!

I know it is early, but I think he looks so much like Jacob. His little profile is perfect. I can't wait to meet this handsome little face.

Now that we know we are having a boy. We went to register and do a little shopping this weekend. I thought that it wouldn't be as fun shopping for a boy but I was wrong. There are so many cute clothes. Here is some of what we got. I love it all!

13 Weeks Update

How far along? 13 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I haven't weighed myself this week, I guess I should invest in a scale.
Maternity clothes? None yet. My mom bought me some maternity jeans and shorts for the summer but I am still not big enough for them. Still wearing a lot of leggings. Jeans are either unbuttoned or rubberbanded together. ;)
Stretch Marks? Still none, hoping I do not get any.
Sleep: I'm still sleeping pretty good, still waking up many times in the night to pee. ;) Still super tired all the time and still having strange dreams. This week Jacob is out of town so I am not sleeping great this week. I miss him, it's hard to sleep alone. Also, ever since we put Abby to sleep, I wake up in the night looking for her on the bed and it's always hard to fall back asleep. :(
Best moment this week: Nothing really exciting has happened so far this week (it is only Monday). I am excited to have a girls night to celebrate a friend's birthday this Thursday. :)

Saying Goodbye is hard.

We had to say "see ya later" to one of our family members today. My sweet Abigail. She was 14 years old and had a cancerous tumor under her arm. Last night when we got home we noticed that it had popped, there was nothing more we could do. The vet said he could try to remove it but because of the kind of cancer it was and the location of the tumor, he wasn't sure he could get it all. Even then it could come back. Not to mention, the surgery is super painful. I didn't want my sweet girl to go through anymore pain and suffering. She handled pain like a champ, though. She was in pain, you could tell but she was still happy go lucky. She was the best dog. The most loyal and the sweetest. She was my best friend for 14 wonderful years, and I will never forget those years. I am completely heartbroken. This morning was the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life. I have never experienced losing a pet like this and it was hard, SO hard. I am glad that we were able to be there with her when she went, at least she had mommy and daddy there. The vet told us we did the right thing, and I truly believe that. It still hurts so badly though. It was so hard to come home to her not greeting us at the door. Yoda (my other dog) was so confused. He didn't understand (and still doesn't) where his sister is. He is acting weird, I hope he will be ok. He has never been alone in his life. When we got home, I took him outside to potty and when we came back inside I went to get him a treat like always and I grabbed two treats. I immediately teared up. Little things like that are going to be the hardest reminders that she is gone. At least now she is no longer in pain and is in a better place. She is living it up in heaven with all the french fries (her favorite) she could ever want. She would have loved the new baby. I think that is what is the hardest to think about. It breaks my heart that she won't be here to greet us when we come home from the hospital. She loved everyone. She was such a good dog. I love her so much and will miss her tremendously.

Secret's Out!

Well the secret is out...I am finally 12 weeks and am able to safely tell everyone that we are indeed expecting! We posted the news on fb and ig and I told my boss and coworkers today. We couldn't be more relieved to have that big secret off our backs. I was so happy with how everyone reacted. We really felt the love from all our family and friends.

Here is our announcement:

I'm So Pregnant Shirt:  Hello Apparel

Now to start my bump updates.  Looking forward to the next 28 weeks! :)

How far along? 12 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I actually have lost 1.5 lbs. since finding out we were expecting. I guess all that nausea and vomiting took it's toll.
Maternity clothes? None - yet! I have however noticed that my jeans are getting pretty hard to button and towards the end of the day, they always end up unbuttoned and hidden by my shirt. I have been wearing a lot of leggings and pikos. :)
Stretch Marks? None and I hope I do not get any! I have been using vitamin E lotion after my shower every day, so I hope that helps!
Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty good, except for the 3-5 times I get up in the night to pee. However, I act as though I get no sleep. I am tired 24/7 and usually get in bed around 9 (old lady status). - I also have been having weird dreams lately (weird and random, like random people - the people you are only fb friends with - that I barely talk to are in my dreams). Weird, I know.
Best moment this week: Our 12 week ultrasound was last Thursday and we got to see little baby a - so amazing! Also, telling everyone our secret we have kept for the past 8 weeks!
Have you told family and friends: Yes! Everyone knows now! pheww!
Miss anything? Turkey sandwiches and hot dogs! I have been craving a turkey sandwich from Jersey Mike's and a hot dog for weeks and it kills me that I can't have them. - Oh and cookie dough! :(
Movement: None yet, but we got to see baby move at the ultrasound! It is so crazy that I can't feel all those flips and kicks yet!
Food Cravings: This week so far I am craving: Cheez-Its, fruit smoothies, and edamame!
Anything making you queasy or sick? coke or anything carbonated really. Sprite is the only one I can really drink and that was just at the movies on Saturday. I drink water all day every day.
Have you started to show yet? A little bump/bloat so far - basically looks like I ate a few too many sweets, which is quite possibly true.
Gender Prediction: Girl (my poppy). Daddy thinks Boy but I think that is more of a hope than a prediction! ;)
Labor signs? No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: A little of both. Mostly happy (my husband would beg to differ). I did have an emotional breakdown on Saturday night because I was hungry and nothing tasted good and I just felt ugly.
Weekly Wisdom: Always take your heartburn medicine! I forgot it yesterday morning and I had heartburn and a stomach ache all night!
Looking forward to: Getting a bigger bump and finding out the gender! :)

Here is the best ultrasound picture we got last Thursday! He/she had a strong heartbeat of 161 bpm and was moving like crazy. Also, looks like baby a has already got the duck face down. ;)

I can't wait to see this little face in person! I love LBA so much already! :)

Surprise!

December 2014 was a whirlwind of a month. We found out that we were expecting! We were so shocked but also very excited!

On December 1, 2014 we were grocery shopping like we do every week. I was 3 days late, which I had been thinking it was really weird and that something might be up. We had passed by the pregnancy tests and I whispered to Jacob that I think we should take one. He just rolled his eyes, he didn't think anything was up. Well did you know that at Kroger they are in these lock boxes? ---We live in a small town and we know several people who work at Kroger and we were not about to ask them to open a pregnancy test lock box for us.-- So we stopped at Walgreens on the way home (they do not have them in lock boxes by the way!) On the way home, I had to pee the whole way, so as soon as we got all the groceries in, I went to take THE test. Well not three seconds after I peed on that little stick did it have two little pink lines telling me that I was indeed pregnant! Jacob was putting the groceries away when I called him into the bathroom to see the stick...he came in there, looked at it and shook his head no and walked out. He was shocked just as I was.
We were having a BABY!

This came a bit of a shock for us because a week before I had gone to my doctor and she was telling me that it would be hard for me to conceive because my endometriosis was still active, and that I was most likely going to have surgery to remove some of the endometrium. Little did we know we were already pregnant, I guess I was too early to register on the test at the doctor. We of course freaked out a little at first, but after a while we realized how excited we were.

On December 15th, we went to my doctor to confirm the pregnancy and make sure everything was ok. My doctor came in and immediately hugged me and shook Jacob's hand. She stated that she was so excited for us and told me that everything happens for a reason and aren't we lucky. (YES, yes we are!) She confirmed that indeed we were pregnant. I got a welcome bag and they took some blood to test my hormone levels.

I went back to the doctor that Friday, December 19th. I wasn't feeling well so I was hoping everything was as it should be. I had my first ultrasound and everything looked great, they said I was measuring at 7 weeks exactly. That little dot on the screen was my baby, I couldn't believe it! I got to hear the baby's heartbeat too, a strong 157 bpm. After waiting a little bit after the ultrasound I saw my doctor.

My doctor explained to me that my progesterone levels were lower than they wanted and that they were going to put me on a supplement to reduce my risk of miscarriage. Then she looked at me really good and said, "girl, I think you might have the flu." (Great! just what I needed at 7 weeks pregnant!) She told me that I needed to go to the doctor immediately leaving her office.

I did just that, I went across the street to a convenient care place, where I waited 2 hours for them to confirm that I did indeed have the flu. GREAT! I immediately went to pick up my medicine and went home to rest....I didn't get out of bed for 4 days, except to get something to eat, drink, or use the bathroom. Jacob was wonderful and took great care of me when he was home from work. I was so nervous having the flu and being pregnant. I was so scared that something was going to go wrong, but I made it through, and am happy to report that baby and me are happy and healthy.

We can't wait to meet you LBA. We love you so much already.
